Reincarnation Theory & Boruto’s Connection to Shibai Otsutsuki
Shibai Otsutsuki has sparked a lot of theories, but they seem far-fetched due to the lack of facts, which is almost funny. Today, I want to share my take on it. I believe Boruto has a reincarnated fragment or soul of Shibai Otsutsuki. I’ll present you with facts from the manga I’ve noticed, as there have been many hints throughout. Now, I’ll prove all this.
Return to Chapter 13 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, where Jura could have killed Boruto. At that moment, Jura mentioned that Boruto was very lucky as if the heavens or some higher power decided he should stay alive, so he missed the vital organs. This was the first divine intervention from Shibai, as I’ve mentioned in my previous blogs.
If we rewind to Chapter 4, when Shinjus first appeared, Boruto barely escaped the dimension where the Ten-Tails are. He narrowly avoided a collision with Jura, who once again said Boruto was lucky. That was the second divine intervention from Shibai.
Now, returning to Chapter 14 of the Boruto manga, the Konoha leadership decided to execute Boruto. But Mitsuki and Shikamaru intervened. While it was clear that Shikamaru began forgetting everything Boruto told him, the thought of trusting Boruto lingered. How did that happen? Shikamaru doesn’t have supernatural willpower or Otsutsuki genes. As Boruto pointed out, they’ve talked about this, and each time, Shikamaru forgot everything. But this time, he didn’t forget. This was the third divine intervention from Shibai.
These are all instances where Boruto was close to death, which is typical for a protagonist, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be a more significant part of the story being told.
This is where Kashin Koji’s power, or Shibai’s, comes into play. This ability allows the user to see all possible futures. This is crucial because Shibai could see something significantβa world where he doesn’t exist but could give him immense power. After all, the main goal of Otsutsuki is to grow stronger and consume everything in their path.
This brings us back to Chapter 75, where Amado states that Shibai is no longer alive, and all that remains of him are his remains. He theorized that Shibai ascended to a higher dimension or was killed by someone else. This is just a theory presented by Amado, but Momoshiki confirmed one thing: Shibai is no longer in this dimension. And as we know, Momoshiki loves to lie. I wouldn’t be surprised if he saw Shibai’s reincarnation and wanted to gain that power, but things didn’t go as planned.
So, the only thing that supports Amado’s claims is Momoshiki’s confirmation that Shibai is no longer alive in the world’s original sense, but this doesn’t explain his current existence. They don’t know where he is.
Also, in Chapter 75, they mentioned the timeline of Akebi’s death. Akebi is Amado’s daughter. Her death essentially set off all the events with Kawaki, Boruto, Isshiki, Karma, and the Kara organization. As I mentioned in my previous video, 12 years is significant. This is crucial because reincarnation requires both an act of death and rebirth, usually within a relatively short timeframe. Amado said his daughter died 12 years ago, as mentioned in several chapters prior, and by itself, this doesn’t seem significant. But then Boruto pointed out that this occurred when he was born.
Shibai influenced Amado’s daughter to kickstart this cycle. Because, as I said, Akebi’s death essentially set off all the events with Kawaki, Boruto, Isshiki, Karma, and the Kara organization.
Reincarnation is part of the Naruto world. It’s important to note that people believe Ashura and Indra possessed the bodies of Naruto and Sasuke, suggesting they are separate entities. However, according to Hagoromo’s explanation in Chapter 670, even after their physical bodies perished, their chakra continued to be reborn repeatedly.
Hagoromo also states that Ashura reincarnated in Naruto, meaning Naruto is Ashura’s current reincarnation, his next life. It’s also confirmed that a person’s reincarnation can differ from themselves. For example, Sage mentions that Naruto’s slightly goofy and free-spirited nature is completely different from that of previous reincarnations, even Ashura himself.
This is significant in the context that Boruto might be Shibai’s reincarnation, as it explains why Boruto’s personality might differ from Shibai’s despite being his embodiment. This makes complete sense, considering how Ashura and Indra were reincarnated. This always happened through their genetic descendants, such as Senju, Uzumaki, and Uchiha. This is tied to genetic compatibility or chakra. It’s similar to how not everyone is compatible with Karma, so Shibai needed time to find the right body, soul, genes, and chakra.
Boruto is compatible with Shibai, while Kawaki is not, because Boruto won the genetic lottery, related to the fact that his father is a descendant of Hagoromo and his mother a descendant of Hamura. This means Boruto has a genetic code compatible with Otsutsuki.
Momoshiki confirmed Boruto’s uniqueness in Chapter 10 of Volume 3 of Boruto, specifically on pages 11 and 13 of the manga. And yes, the most important aspect is the Jougan. Boruto’s eye will have a black sclera, and this is not Byakugan; it’s specifically Jogan. Ikemoto and Kishimoto confirmed this in a recent interview in France. The design will be changed, and this is 100% Jougan.
I also have an article about this interview on my site. Boruto’s horn also resembles Shibai’s horn more than Momoshiki’s, especially considering that each Karma bearer’s horn resembled the one who granted them that Karma. That’s why Boruto is closely linked to Otsutsuki powers, like the Jougan, and this isn’t a coincidenceβeverything is going according to Shibai’s plan.
