Is Naruto the New Villain in Boruto? Unraveling the Truth Behind the Fifth Shinju
The Naruto and Boruto community is divided. Some believe the new villain is Naruto, while others think this new villain is Shinki, Gaara’s son. In this article, I will reveal, based on evidence, who the fifth Shinju is.
Naruto is in the Kokugan dimension. Naruto is currently sealed in the Daikokugan 10 Dimension, controlled by Kawaki’s Kokugan, Isshiki’s Dojutsu. Kawaki trapped Naruto in this dimension to keep him safe from the Ōtsutsuki, like Momoshiki, who resides within Boruto. In Kawaki’s view, Naruto is everything he has in life, so he’s willing to do anything to protect him.
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it was shown that Naruto hadn’t aged a single day during these three years because time does not pass in the Daikokugan dimension. However, it turns out that Naruto may be returning to the Boruto manga, but this time as a villain—more specifically, as a Shinju. In the latest chapter 13 of the Boruto manga, a fifth villain who visually resembles Naruto was revealed, and he will appear in the next chapter. We already have a Sasuke clone, but a Naruto clone could be even more exciting, especially since this clone would have to fight Boruto, Kawaki, and maybe even Himawari.
Kashin Koji’s Visions
This supposed clone of Naruto appeared alongside another surprising revelation: Kashin Koji possesses an insane power from Shibai Ōtsutsuki. In Chapter 13 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, it was revealed that after being defeated by Isshiki, Kashin Koji awakened a ninjutsu known as “10 Directions,” which allows the user to see the past, the future, and alternate timelines. Koji used this power to see the future, visualizing Naruto using Baryon Mode, Code with his army, and Eida utilizing omnipotence.
It turns out that by using this power, Kashin Koji saw a fifth Shinju, a new villain resembling Naruto, who will appear in the next chapter of the manga. With this same shinjutsu, Kashin Koji saw a “spiny soul” and discovered various pieces of information about the Shinjus. Using “10 Directions,” he can obtain any information.
The Mystery of the New Shinju
The only question remains: who exactly is this mysterious new Shinju? Koji acquired this power through Shibai’s cells. Understanding the “spiny soul” is fundamental to understanding this new villain, who might be Naruto.
The spiny soul is a new divine fruit that contains all the chakra of the Shinjus, their genetic data, and other information. Using this object, the Shinjus can revive each other unless the spiny soul drifts away from the divine tree and decays. Otherwise, even if defeated, the Shinjus will return to life, thanks to the cube from the Jūbi’s dimension and the divine tree, just as Matsuri did when reviving Hidari.
In other words, this new Shinju, who appeared as a spiny soul, engaged in a battle with someone and was defeated, much like Hidari, who turned into a fruit after Boruto’s destruction. In the next chapter, Jura will revive this fifth Shinju and choose its name. With that, we’ll discover who it truly is because the target this Shinju chooses will reveal its identity, as the Shinjus target people close to their clones, like Hidari wanting to devour Sarada for Sasuke’s chakra.
The Powers of the Naruto Clone
Assuming this new Shinju is indeed Naruto, we have an exact idea of his future powers. We saw that Hidari had Sasuke’s Chidori, so the Naruto clone will likely have the Rasengan and be able to use all the power of this ninjutsu, including the giant Rasengan. With the Jūbi’s chakra, he can use the giant Rasengan.
Additionally, this Shinju will better master Wood Style, as we know Naruto possesses Hashirama’s cells in addition to the chakra of the Jūbi. Thus, we can expect some basic wood-style techniques and the ability to devour other people and absorb chakras. This Shinju will also have Code’s claw marks, a power that the Naruto clone can use to teleport quickly and regenerate using the divine tree.
We must also remember that the Naruto clone might bring dirty claws to the battlefield and possibly use other elements of nature.
This Villain Is Not Naruto
Seeing Naruto return as a villain would be interesting, but we can safely say that this fifth Shinju is not Naruto, based on some evidence. For example, this new villain is short and even smaller than Matsuri. If it were a clone of Naruto, it would have the same height, as the physical characteristics of the Shinju, like height, are based on the chakra of the one who served as the base to create the Shinju.
Furthermore, this new Shinju could not be Naruto because he had been in the Daikokugan dimension for three years, so he could not be in a tree. There is also the argument that the Shinjus can be anyone who exists or has ever existed, but this argument is invalid. This statement came from Chapter 4 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, where Jura refers to people killed by the divine tree in the Jūbi dimension. At no point does he talk about the creation of the Shinjus, meaning the theory that this new villain is Naruto has no foundation in the story.
The New Villain Is Shinki
Everything indicates that this new villain is Shinki, Gaara’s son. We know this because the fifth Shinju we saw in Kashin Koji’s visions has the same marks as Shinki. Additionally, this new villain is also short, matching Shinki’s height.
There’s also a clue that few have noticed: Kashin Koji confirmed that Boruto was in the Land of Wind, meaning Sasuke was transformed into a tree near the Sand Village, exactly where Shinki lives. Thus, the chances of Shinki being captured are real. If this clone were Naruto, he would have more prominence and a greater focus, not being introduced so abruptly.
Everything points to Shinki emerging as the villain in the next chapter.
The Powers of the New Villain
As a clone of Shinki, we have a good idea of his powers. Shinki’s main power is iron sand, and the Magnet Release Kekkei Genkai, so this new villain will be able to use the power of iron sand to create all sorts of things, such as giant hands that can block attacks and have great destructive power, or even giant wings for flying and attacking. The new Shinju can also use sand to create a sand tsunami or increase his physical strength.
In addition to Wood Style, like all Shinjus, he can use this technique thanks to the chakra of the Jūbi. The Shinki clone will also have Code’s shinjutsu, which allows him to manipulate claw marks to teleport. The Shinki clone is truly powerful.
we witnessed some key developments that set the stage for the appearance of the mysterious fifth Shinju. From Mitsuki’s Sage Mode to the revelation of Jura’s true identity, the chapter laid crucial groundwork for the new villain who will challenge Boruto and Kawaki in the upcoming arc. This new Shinju’s resemblance to Naruto has sparked intense speculation within the community. To understand the build-up to this moment and explore these pivotal events, you can revisit chapter 14 of Boruto Two Blue Vortex (Duty)for a deeper dive.
