This article shares the most potent dōjutsu and Shinjutsu in the Boruto and Naruto manga series. You’ll also learn the secret of a unique eye called the Renzugan, which belongs to Daemon. Let’s dive into our Top 9 Dōjutsu and Shinjutsu!

9th Place: Senrigan

Also known as the Clairvoyance Eye, this extraordinarily powerful Shinjutsu is none other than Senrigan. This eye was part of the god Shibai Ōtsutsuki, and its power goes beyond ordinary capabilities. Senrigan allows its user to project their consciousness to any point from birth until the present moment, enabling them to see and hear events that occurred or are currently happening in any chosen period.

However, like most techniques, Senrigan has limitations. It can’t see events in separate spiritual or mental dimensions, restricting its usage. And, of course, Senrigan cannot see what happens in Kawaki’s eye dimension. Nevertheless, its uniqueness is that it awakened in Eida’s body when Shibai’s genes triggered it. This eye remains one of a kind among all other Shinjutsu and dōjutsu, and its abilities play a significant role in the current events of the Boruto universe.

8th Place: Byakugan

Next on the list is the Byakugan, the well-known eye of the Hyūga clan, which they inherited from the ancient Ōtsutsuki clan. Byakugan is one of the most potent dōjutsu, allowing its bearer to see in a 359-degree radius around them, with only a one-degree blind spot. It will enable the user to see chakra flows in opponents up to 20 kilometres away and analyze them accurately.

The Byakugan also allows its bearer to see all tenketsu (chakra points), which helps identify clones and detect whether an enemy is under a genjutsu. Even though Byakugan ranks eighth, its power is undeniable, and it remains one of the Hyūga clan’s most vital techniques, often used in battle.

7th Place: Sharingan

This dōjutsu has become a symbol of the Uchiha clan. Its abilities are incredibly potent, even though they’re not as detailed as those of the Byakugan. Sharingan grants its bearer the power to predict an opponent’s movements and copy techniques with enough skill. The eye can also perceive chakra, even through barriers, and induce Genjutsu, giving its user control over an enemy’s mind.

The Sharingan also boasts powerful techniques, such as:

Izanagi, which can alter reality to avoid death.
Izanami traps an opponent in an infinite time loop, disconnecting their senses.

However, these powerful abilities can only be used once, as activating them causes the eye to lose sight.

6th Place: Mangekyō Sharingan

In an enhanced version of the standard Sharingan, the user retains all the capabilities of the original Sharingan and gains access to new, more powerful techniques. One of the most notable abilities is Susanoo, a giant protective spirit that shields the user and can attack.

Additionally, Mangekyō Sharingan users can wield unique powers such as:

Amaterasu: The inextinguishable black flame.
Tsukuyomi: A powerful genjutsu.
Kamui: A technique that enables access to a personal dimension.

However, with each use of these abilities, Mangekyō Sharingan bearers face a severe problem—vision deterioration. Fortunately, there’s a way to avoid blindness. By transplanting Mangekyō Sharingan from a relative, the user can obtain the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, gaining an even stronger Susanoo capable of flight.

5th Place: Tenseigan

This eye grants control over gravitational forces, much like the Rinnegan. A fully developed Tenseigan allows the user to enter the Tenseigan Chakra Mode, enhancing physical attributes and granting Truth-Seeking Balls formed from all five nature transformations. By infusing these balls with Tenseigan chakra, the user can perform several powerful techniques.

The Tenseigan also has the power to pull the moon toward Earth and power a massive golem. Additionally, it grants immense power, as seen when Toneri can slice the moon in half.

4th Place: Kokugan

This eye can alter the size of inanimate objects, including the user’s body. Even more remarkable, it can open a timeless dimension, storing objects and people within it—providing its user with tremendous tactical advantages.

3rd Place: Jōgan

This is Boruto’s unique eye, which holds enormous potential. It can see chakra across dimensions and predict the emergence of spatial techniques, making it invaluable in combat. Jōgan has as many as 11 abilities, which we’ve covered in a separate video.

Though its full powers are yet to be revealed, even in its early stages, Jōgan demonstrates immense potential and may become the most potent dōjutsu. 2nd Place: Daemon’s Eyes (Renzugan)

Placing second is Daemon’s eye, which is a genuinely unique Shinjutsu. That’s why I refer to it as the Renzugan.

The power of his eyes resembles the function of a lens that transforms and focuses light. When someone attacks Daemon, his Shinjutsu automatically detects the attack, much like how a prism captures light and then returns the concentrated force to his opponent.

Many thought the eyes of Eida, Daemon, and Borutosymbolized the moon, but after analyzing events in recent Borutomanga chapters, I’m confident that Daemon’s eyes represent a convex prism. He can effortlessly neutralize and reflect any attack, regardless of its strength.

In Chapter 74 of Boruto, we saw Daemon catch Kawaki’s projectiles aimed at him. However, the attack didn’t immediately rebound onto Kawaki, even though it was expected to. I’m 1000% certain that Daemon can toggle his Shinjutsu at will, making him an incredibly dangerous and strategic figure in the manga.

1st Place: Rinnegan

Claiming the top spot is the Rinnegan, the eye regarded as the most powerful among all dōjutsu. This eye grants its user formidable abilities, including control over all elements of the Six Paths:

Attraction
Repulsion
Body transformation
Soul extraction
Summoning
Chakra absorption

Each Rinnegan bearer has unique abilities, such as:

Limbo used by Madara.
Sasuke’s spatial techniques.
Urashiki’s time manipulation.

These powers make the Rinnegan the most dangerous eye and can determine the outcome of even the most challenging situations.

Honorable Mention: Shion’s Dōjutsu

Outside of my top choices, another attractive eye is Shion’s Dōjutsu. In Naruto Shippuden the Movie, Shion has a dōjutsu that lets her see the future of a specific person. It usually activates to show her that person’s impending death.

When it activates, her pupils change into a richly decorated, purple ornamental pattern that spins like a kaleidoscope. Shion’s Dōjutsu and the Senrigan share some similarities, which might hint that Shion’s eyes could have been a prototype or inspiration for the Senrigan in Boruto.

Here are a few key similarities between them:

Both eyes — Shion’s Dōjutsu and the Senrigan — are scarce and unique in their worlds.
They belong to extraordinary characters and offer superhuman abilities that significantly impact the plot.
These unique eyes reveal critical information in both cases and create dramatic moments.

Shion’s Dōjutsu was used to foresee tragedies and try to change fate. At the same time, Eida’s Senrigan allowed her to manipulate information and influence others by observing events from afar and intervening when it suited her.

Shion’s eyes don’t seem to have spatial limits, as her predictions can involve any location, but they are limited by time — she only sees deaths coming up soon.

So, Shion’s Dōjutsu can be seen as a prototype for the Senrigan since both abilities offer a vision beyond regular sight and belong to unique characters who shape the course of events. I think the creators of Boruto might have expanded on the idea of Shion’s Dōjutsu.
